Jammin 107.5(KXJM) & Cool Nutz Present The Northwest Breakout Radio Show
CBS Radio's KXJM(Jammin 107.5FM) and Portland Hip-Hop mainstay Cool Nutz are teaming up to bring Portland's airwaves the Northwest Breakout Radio Show. The NWBS will feature the hottest in Northwest Hip-Hop and Urban radio ready music, and will give artists from the region the opportunity to gain further exposure for their music on one of the regions hottest urban radio stations.
The NWBS will put a spotlight on quality Urban music from the region and will showcase the hottest talent from Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Northern California. With the resources of CBS Radio, regional artists can look forward to having a mainstream outlet to expose listeners to quality Urban music from the region in a prime time slot.
The NWBS will feature artist interviews, classic, new, and exclusive music from top flight Northwest artists. The NWBS will also feature the Bar 4 Bar segment of the show, which gives Northwest artists the opportunity to enter into lyrical combat in head to head competition over today's hottest instrumentals, and winners will be given the chance to defend their wins in a week to week competition.
The NWBS will also feature celebrity music reviews of submitted music that will not serve as a voice of hate, but a tool for constructive criticism to help bring regional artists closer to receiving regular airplay with feedback from some of today's hottest Urban artists.
Look for special guest DJ's to feature exclusive mixes from Northwest artists on the show, as well as up to date information on upcoming live performances from Northwest artists, club nights, album release dates, and community affairs and events.
The NWBS will premiered on Friday October 3rd from 9:00-10:00 PM PST and will air every Friday following. You will also be able to listen live online at www.JamminFM.com or AOL Radio under CBS Radio Guide.
The NWBS is going to be a great resource for Northwest artists and we are looking forward to receiving music from all Northwest artists with the proper material that fits the format of the show.

KENNY MACK THE WEST COAST BAD BOY
Kenny Mack hails from Portland, Oregon and has served as a representative for Northwest and West Coast
hip hop for over fifteen years. Originally inspired by his uncle who was a member of the Portland based
R&B group Pleasure and the classic hip hop sounds of LL Cool J, N.W.A., Ice Cube and Run DMC, Kenny
Mack embraced his skills as an artist early on. He played shows in Portland during his high school years as
part of a group called Quadralyrical. At sixteen years old he ventured to Los Angeles to pursue a career in
music.
Kenny Mack was originally signed to Northwest based label Jus’ Family Records. He released his
debut album in 1996 called "Nuthin But Tha Family" through Jus’ Family Records, and then in 1998 he
dropped "Kenny Mack: My Heat Reins Supreme". Later in 1998, he broke off to start his own label M
Records. He finished his next album "Killas and Dillas" in 2001, but the release was pushed back until
2005 due to incarceration. In 2008, he released his fourth album "The Bizzness" through M Records.
Kenny Mack took home the prestigious award of Artist of the Year at the West Coast Hip Hop Awards in
2009. May 2010 will mark the next release for Kenny Mack with his highly anticipated 19 track LP "The
Streets Aint Safe" and June 30, 2010 he is following that up with another album "The 5th Lane". He is also
in the works on a dubstep remix album with Bay area producer, Cynic One.
Along with a successful career as a recording artist, Kenny Mack is also extremely active in community
outreach, speaking to the youth, and various charity events. He helped organize the "Good Look Clothing
Drive" alongside DJ OG One, which helped to clothe one hundred families in the Portland area. In March
2010, Kenny Mack participated in an event called "Hoop Hop" which helped to educate and spread
awareness about the importance of health in our communities. He helped to secure a sponsorship from
Nike for the event and got twenty pairs of brand new sneakers to the Boys and Girls Club, and continues
to frequently make donations. He’s actively involved with speaking to the youth endorsing HIV and STD
outreach programs and later this year he will be participating in a canned food drive called "Food Wars 3".
Kenny Mack has been published in The Source Magazine, XXL magazine, and Murda Dogg Magazine on
various occasions. He was written up in Smooth Magazine about his involvement in charity events, as well
as featured in Tattoo Burst Magazine showcasing his extensive ink work. He’s also been written up locally
in the Oregonian and Willamette Week and various online publications.
Through the course of his career, Kenny Mack has built connections with artists like Mac Dre (RIP), Snoop
Dogg, Outkast, Redman and Method Man, Too Short, E-40 and more. He’s given back to his community
and proved that an entrepreneurial mindset and strong work ethic can carry you. He’s gained extensive
notoriety for not only his musical talent, but his persona and individuality. In an industry that’s heavily
inundated with cookie cutter artists, Kenny Mack has distinguished himself by virtue of his skill and
dexterity and unique self-representation. From the streets to the community, Kenny Mack has brought a
new standard to urban culture and hip hop music. In his own words, "Life is a movie, approach life like a
